Mid-Morning - A short story by Noel Lorenz - inspired by real events featuring Jael Kemuma and Arising Anne

Mid-Morning

Jael was hoping badly that the Magazine was already done by this time. It's already late.

On the way to work, she pulled over at Anne's Café and ordered a moca. Reading a tabloid sitting at the corner table, she suddenly heard a familiar voice. She looked up to find Noel Lorenz was sharing a smile with the owner of the Café, Ms. Anne, his sister. As Jael approached him from the back, Ms. Anne giggled seeing Jael, 'Miss you, bestie."

Noel Lorenz turned to face Jael. He felt a little awkward knowing he is yet to deliver the Magazine that Jael had planned way back. It's been ages.

Jael knew he was recovering from a virus attack. She smiled at him and breathed, "It's already May."

Quieter than a whisper, a firm voice from a friend, made Noel comfortable and he exclaimed, "It's already May!"

They shared a smile together.

Jael left for her office and Noel headed for the court.

Ms. Anne, the owner of the Anne's Café chain of restaurants, smiled and headed out to the school she owns.
